Job Opening: Fabrication Saw Operator
Description
Do you have Fabrication experience and are looking for a rewarding career? Locally Owned, State of the Art, Air Conditioned Machine Shop is looking to add to their Harahan, LA Facility.
Pay: $17.50/hr plus quarterly incentives
Shift: 6am-2:30pm
Saw Operator Responsibilities:
• Use Marvel saw equipment to cut metal according to specified measurements.
• Safely handle materials and load/unload them onto the saw.
• Inspect cut pieces to ensure they meet quality standards before moving on to the next routing.
• Perform routine equipment maintenance.
• Perform cycle counts on raw material.
• Follow safety guidelines to maintain a safe work environment.
• Properly tag and deliver cut parts
• Use computer software to perform transactions and capture labor to each job
• Work with team members and assist in other areas as needed.
• Maximize efficiency and minimize waste
Saw Operators Requirements:
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Fluent in written and spoken English
• Be able to identify and use basic hand tools
• Self–managed; team player
• Must be able to follow instructions and pay attention to detail
• Have a passion for doing a job well
• Basic math skills and ability to accurately read a tape measure
• Able to work overtime
• Willing to cross train in other work centers as needed
• Capability of learning manufacturing software being used on shop floor
• Must be able to perform the essential job requirements identified in the Functional Job Description for this position, including the ability to lift and move 50 lbs
