Site Search Help
How the site search works:
This tool works a lot like other Search Engines you can find on the Web. It will find all the Web pages on the www.westaff.com site that include the words you have typed into the word(s) field. Please note that this will not include the job postings — for those, please use our Job Search utility.
Note: The search is not case-sensitive. Word(s) must be greater than 2 characters and special characters (e.g..$%&) are ignored.
Word(s): This is where your search terms or keywords should be entered. A keyword may be significant words in an article or a topic in a Web page. You may enter one or many words for your search. Provided that your search term is greater than two characters, the search will include partial words (e.g. "elf" will have results of pages containing "self", "elf", "shelf" etc.).
Match Methods:
- If you want all of the words you typed to be in the documents for the results, choose contains all words.
- If you want one or more of the words you typed to be in the result list, choose contains at least one word.
Sort:
- If you want the search results in order of how well the results matched your keywords, choose best match.
- If you want the search results to be listed by the document's date, select date.
- If you want the search results to be listed alphabetically by the document's title, select title.
Format:
- Here you can select how many results should appear on the results page. If you want only ten documents per page, select ten.
- You may also select what the summary will look like: if you would like to see just the page titles, select short summary. If you would like a preview of the page contents to appear on the search results page, select long summary.
Buttons:
- If you are satisfied that you have the selections the way you want them, click on the Search button.
- If you want to start over with new selections, or want to set the selectors back to their defaults, click on the Reset Form button. Note that any words you have entered will also be blanked out if you press the Reset Form button.
Refine Search:
Once you have received a list of results, you may want to fine-tune your results by adding search terms (words) or by changing your format or sort order.
- To add more words, enter the additional search terms into the search box under the results list, and click on the Search button.
- To change your format or sort order, click on the Refine Search button.
- To start a new search with all the format and sort values reset to default, click on the New Search button.
Search Results:
- The list of Web pages on www.westaff.com that match your search terms is displayed in the order you selected in the Sort.
- If you chose "short summary", the list of results will consist of the ranking number, the page title and the page location.
- If you chose "long summary", the list of results will consist of the ranking number, the page title, page location, page size, modified date and a paragraph or so of text with your matched term highlighted.
- The number of matched items per page is set by the Format matches/page.
