The Westaff Forum, OAK BROOK, Ill., April 2, 2007 This evening, leading global provider of staffing services Westaff, Inc. (NASDAQ:WSTF), will hold the first 2007 installment of its signature leadership and networking series, The Westaff Forum. The event, titled “The Advancement of Women in Leadership Positions,” will be held at the Doubletree Hotel Chicago/ Oak Brook and feature noted speaker and business leader Cheryl Francis. Francis is the co-founder of the Chicago-based Corporate Leadership Center, the flagship program of which, The CEO Perspective, is currently being taught at Northwestern’s Kellogg School.
“As a woman who has achieved success in business, I appreciate the value a strong network of peers provides in terms of the exchange of ideas,” said Westaff President and CEO Trish Newman. “Supporting programs, like The Forum series, that bring Westaff personnel face-to-face with other business leaders is one way we encourage our employees’ leadership development and demonstrate Westaff’s commitment to being engaged members of the communities we service.”
In addition to featuring Chicago-native Francis, the Forum will also recognize Westaff Peoria Branch Manager Marcia Cannon’s business and community leadership. Cannon’s achievements recently earned her a Peoria Woman magazine profile and cover. In an effort to ensure future generations of female leaders like Cannon, the Westaff Forum will also make a donation to the YWCA Metropolitan Chicago. The YWCA Metropolitan Chicago is dedicated to cultivating leadership; last year alone, its programming helped empower more than 120,000 women and children.
The Westaff Forum series began in 2006. It is designed to give busy professionals the opportunity to listen to experts discuss issues relevant to the workplace. Forums provide the opportunity to discover new methodologies and ways to improve business, as well as the chance to network and share ideas with the local business community. More information about future Westaff Forums can be found on the company Web site, www.westaff.com.
