Westaff and Autonomic Resources Announce Five-Year Mentor Protégé Agreement with Department of the Treasury

WALNUT CREEK CA, Thursday, August 10, 2006   --
Westaff, Inc. (NASDAQ: WSTF), a leading provider of staffing services, and Autonomic Resources, a Small Business Administration Certified Section 8(a) Program Participant based in Raleigh, North Carolina, today announced their joint certification as mentors within the Department of Treasury's Mentor-Protégé Program. Under the five-year mentoring agreement, the two companies will work together exclusively to pursue more than $2 billion in federal contract awards.

"I'm very pleased that Westaff is entering this close collaboration with Autonomic Resources," said Trish Newman, president and chief executive officer of Westaff. "Their expertise and established relationships within federal, state, and local government markets perfectly augments our capabilities, and our goals are very much aligned." She added, "Working together, both Westaff and Autonomic Resources will be better positioned to not only help small businesses realize their visions, but also achieve our own growth strategies."

Westaff's VP & Government Business Manager Bob Ambrose and Autonomic Resources' Managing Partner John Keese and VP of Government Services Dave Goldberg signed the Department of Treasury agreement in July which has been approved. The goal of the Mentor-Protégé Program is to encourage large businesses to assist small emerging companies in enhancing their capabilities.

"The opportunity to learn and grow our organization with the knowledge and leadership of an industry leader such as Westaff, with over 50 years experience, is phenomenal," said Keese.

Goldberg also commented, "Over the last five years I have worked with Westaff, they have proven to be a quality organization that we would like to emulate. Westaff consistently receives high performance ratings from Government customers and has increased their Federal customers significantly year over year."

Westaff has provided staffing services to the Government since 1993.

The two companies plan to co-locate a Program Management Office and apply a shared services approach. Autonomic Resources indicates through this mentoring program they have the capability to significantly grow in size. A privately owned company, Autonomic Resources is currently exploring the financial markets for strategic funding opportunities.
