Louisville, Kentucky, Resident Honored for Outstanding Work
During National Staffing Employee Week
LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY , September 22, 2005--Westaff, Inc. (NASDAQ: WSTF) announced today that David Buskiewicz of Louisville, Kentucky, is the 2005-06 Westaff's Best Central Region Temporary Associate -- one of seven regional winners from around the country. Westaff's Best is an annual awards program sponsored by one of the country's top staffing and employment companies to honor the outstanding work of its temporary workforce.
"All of our awardees have one thing in common - an exceptional work ethic," said Trish Newman, Westaff's President and Chief Executive Officer. "Each of them has demonstrated a willingness to go the extra mile and to do it with a great attitude. That's something we never want to take for granted. And it's why I'm extremely pleased to salute and thank these talented employees who are a credit to their communities and to Westaff."
Buskiewicz stood out in his work as a production and print employee at Xerox Corporation in Louisville, Kentucky, because of his willingness to volunteer for difficult tasks and then perform them exceptionally well, said Donna Johnson of Xerox's Staffing and Records.
"David stepped up to help when we needed him," said Johnson, who nominated him. "He's now responsible for generating about 50,000 bills daily. The magnitude and importance of this job is incredible. To put it bluntly, you receive your monthly Gas and Electric bill on time because of David."
Buskiewicz, a 25-year-old father of a 14-month-old son, will be rewarded with an American Express Gift Check, a Certificate of Recognition from Westaff and other gifts.
"I'm proud and grateful to Westaff and Xerox," Buskiewicz said. "This has been a great opportunity to show that I can adapt to different job situations quickly and handle different tasks. It's a good match for me because I like to get into it and take charge. I like being constantly busy."
Buskiewicz deserves the award because he's always given 150%, commented Amanda Hall, Placement Consultant for Westaff.
"He has always gone to work with a smile on his face," Hall said. "He has demonstrated every quality that Westaff employee should have, including a real drive to succeed."
The awards program, now in its eighth year, coincides with National Staffing Employee Week. The week, September 19-25, is the American Staffing Association's (ASA) nationwide celebration of the country's 2.5 million temporary employees.
Staffing employees offer companies the flexibility they need to keep fully staffed during busy times. Eight out of ten client companies, according to the ASA, feel that temporary employees make good candidates for becoming permanent employees.
The staffing industry provides millions of employees with diverse and challenging assignments as well as free training to help meet today's demand for skilled workers. Over the past two years, staffing companies have created 500,000 new jobs.
