U.S. Army Health Clinic, Selfridge Air National Guard
Base
Administrator is a Mentor to Others
Walnut Creek, Calif., September 29, 2004
An
administrator at an outpatient Army medical clinic
whose calm leadership skills have been the "lynch-pin" that
holds the organization together, has been named the
2004-05 National Temporary Associate of the Year by
Westaff, Inc. (NASDAQ:WSTF), a staffing and employment
leader.
Eduardo Rosario of Chesterfield, Mich., has been the
administrator of the U.S. Army Health Clinic at the
Selfridge Air National Guard Base in Michigan for more
than two years. This husband and father of a grown
son, who was nominated by his supervisors at the base,
stood out as Westaff's best for his tireless
dedication to his duties and his outstanding leadership
of the personnel at the clinic.
Westaff's Best is an annual awards program for outstanding
temporary associates from one of the country's premier
staffing and employment companies.
"Mr. Rosario is the lynch-pin that holds all
the working parts of the organization together," said
Westaff client Sgt. First Class Thomas E. Gloss, the
noncommissioned officer in charge of the clinic, where
Rosario supervises a staff of 20. "(He) has an
uncanny way of managing these people that actually
makes each of them feel as though they are truly needed
and necessary... He is a true leader and I personally
consider him a mentor as well as a friend."
Rosario was also singled out for his work upgrading
the clinic facility, using his personal time to oversee
construction work so clinic users would not be inconvenienced,
and saving the community thousands of dollars by reclaiming
furniture and equipment slated for disposal, providing
a much needed "cosmetic revitalization" of
the clinic.
"Through his leadership and selfless service,
Eduardo has turned a mediocre satellite clinic into
one of the best and most productive satellite facilities
for Ireland Army Community Hospital," added U.S.
Army Capt. Steve Dinetz.
The awards program, now in its seventh year, honors
the remarkable on-the-job efforts made every day by
temporary workers around the country. Westaff provides
175,000 temporary and Permanent Placement employees annually,
in the areas of administration, call centers and light
industry.
Rosario was chosen from among 15 regional awardees
and 113 branch awardees from around the country. He
will receive a weekend trip for two to San Francisco,
a Certificate of Recognition from Westaff, and numerous
other gifts.
"My motivation is all about taking care of people.
I was put here to take care of the people in this clinic
and make sure the beneficiaries receive the best possible
care," said Rosario. "I'm a retired
Army Sergeant Major and this is a carryover from taking
care of the soldiers in my unit. If I don't take
care of them, then who is going to?"
Westaff's awards program gives outstanding temporary
workers the recognition they deserve, said Westaff
President and CEO Dwight Pedersen: "Westaff is
proud to have Eduardo working for us and we thank him
for being an outstanding associate and taking on such
a leadership role to help others. He embodies the best
values of our company by making a real commitment to
the success of the U.S. Army Health Clinic at Selfridge
Air National Guard Base and to the community at large. "
