Walnut Creek, CA, Tuesday, September 21, 2004 Westaff,
Inc. (NASDAQ: WSTF) Matthew Jochym, a college intern
at Unisource, Inc. in Exton, PA has been awarded a
$3000 scholarship by Westaff in its College Intern
Scholarship program, which awards a worthy college
intern each year for outstanding performance while
working for Westaff at a client company.
"Our scholarship award is made in concurrence
with our clients. We give clients the opportunity to
nominate deserving Westaff college interns who contribute
significantly to their businesses during the summer," commented
Dwight Pedersen, President and CEO of Westaff. "This
is part of our on-going efforts to support learning
initiatives and recognize the performance of our workforce."

Jochym, a database miner for Unisource, was chosen
for his work ethic, ability to learn quickly and timeliness
as well as for putting his college skills to use in
the workplace.
"He has an outstanding work ethic and the skills
to go along with it," wrote Lori Dugan of Unisource
in her nomination. "Matthew has proven to be
such a valuable asset to our team that we decided to
extend his internship until he has to return to school.
We hope he will consider coming to work for us when
he finishes his degree."

Jochym is a sophomore at West Chester University, majoring
in Computer Science.
